Our community was greatly shocked to learn of the sudden death of Elder Downs which occured last Monday just after he had boarded the train for his home in Kansas City, Kan., near Falls City, where he had been to conduct quarterly meeting services. Brother Downs was the presiding elder at this place. He married Miss Nettie Boles of this place. Funeral services were held in Kansas City, Kansas, and interment took place at Olathe. J, Brother Downs was a loving father, a tender husband and a christian brother to all.
