The Life of H C Ferguson

TO THE PUBLIC.

If you should be at a loss to know what I have taken to cause death, I will gratify your anxiety by telling plainiy. I took about twenty-two grains of morphine.  My reason for committing such cowardly act was simply because I been struggling hard all through life, up to the present, and have never been able to accomplish only but just so much.
Whisky has been my enemy all life. I have tried hard to leave it when all at once, hardly conscious of the fact myself, I would find myself again under its influence, until I have to look upon it with horror and fright.
I was 30 years old last month, now past the meridan of life; my days are gone, and as I look into future every thing looks dark and gloomy and I can see nothing for me. I have always tried to treat everybody right as l possibly could, but it dohn't seem to me that they have appreciated my efforts, so I am a man with but few friends. I am so sleepy I will have to quit writing and close by asking the public for their earnest prayers that I may fiond peace with God:that God may forgive me for this cowardly crime. Bidding you all good-bye I remain very truly,
H.C. Ferguson.
I ask you as a last request do not make an effort to revive me; I don't want to.
Write to M. Davis, as he is the same to me as a f.ather
