Edward Lee "RC" Duncan

Edwan.l L. Duncan, affectionately known as "RC" of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013, at his home.

RC was born July 14, 1938, to the late Edward and Oshea Duncan in Hartville, Missouri. After graduating high school, RC enlisted in the Army before transferring to the Navy to complete his service. RC was a hard worker, and worked at Kenworth & Dart for 17 years before joining National Envelope before retiring in 2010. He loved working on cars, and taught automotive repair at a trade school in downtown Kansas City, Missouri in the late 70's. RC was an avid fisherman and enjoyed listening to R&B and Gospel music, especially Al Green.

RC is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Virgina Palmer, Joretta Duncan, Christine Burnett and a granddaughter, Angel Seward. He is survived by four daughters, Donna (Mike) Elston, Marlene Duncan, Linda (Darrell) Alfred and Angel (Ed) Ewing; a son, Carlos Coleman; four brothers, Cornell Duncan, Phillip (Willie) Duncan, Ronnie Duncan and Donnie Duncan; three sisters, Barbara Jean (John) Dowdell, Hartense Duncan and Sharon Duncan; seven grandchildren, Kenneth, Michael, Maurice, Torre, Andrea, Asia and Brandon; seven great grandchildren and many extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank KU Cancer Center and Vitas Hospice for the care and comfort they provided for their dad.

Visitation and Graveside Services

Visitation will be 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2013, at the Amos Family Funeral

Home. Graveside service will follow at 12 p.m. at Olathe Memorial Cemetery.
