Michael Geissel Harman, 68, of Olathe, KS, passed away August 13, 2009 at Olathe Medical Center. Graveside Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at Olathe Memorial Cemetery, Olathe, KS. Visitation will be from 7- 8:30 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2009 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS, 913- 856-7111. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Assoc. or the American Diabetes Assoc. Condolences may be sent to www.brucefuneralhome .com Michael was born in South Bend, IN, on July 22, 1941 to Walter and Esther Harman. Mike was a graduate of Central High School in South Bend and served in the US Navy. He was a trooper and sergeant with the Indiana State Police until his retirement in 1989. He moved to Olathe, KS and worked as an investigator with Clarence Kelley and Associates and provided security for Safety and Health Council. Mike was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Overland Park, KS; and the American Legion of Olathe, KS. He was preceded in death by his father Walter and brother Joel Harman. Mike is survived by his son Michael C. Harman of Olathe; daughter Katherine A. Stephens of Trimble, Mo.; four granddaughters; one great grandson; his mother, Esther Harman of Mishawaka, IN; five brothers; one sister; an aunt and numerous nieces and nephews.
