Obituary, Johnson Mize.

Johnson Mize was born in Washington county, Iowa, March 18, 1843, and moved with his parents to Leavenworth county, Kan., in 1856.

He enlisted Co. A, of the 11th, Kansas in 1862, in which he served three years. He was united in marriage to Miss Caroline V. Love, December 31, 1865, and to this Union five daughters were born, one dying in childhood. Mrs. Lena Sinclair, Mildred, Kan.; Mrs. Anna Tolliver of Pleasanton, Kan., Mrs. Frances Gillham of Dallas, Texas; Mrs. Elva Strong of Kansas City, Mo. His wife six sisters and two brothers survive him.

He was converted and joined the Methodist church 37 years ago and lived a faithful Christian life. He died at his home in. Olathe, December 9, 1919, age 76 years, eight months and 22 days.

 Mr. Mize was a kindly man, possessed of a loving spirit. No one ever sought his help in vain. His big heart was easily moved to compassion and he never seemed happier than when helping someone. The value of such a life as his cannot be estimated.

Mr. Will Reitz, Kansas City, Kan.; Mr. and Mrs. George Mize, Mr. and Mrs. John James, Mr. Nick Reitz and Mr. T. C. Huston, Monticello, Kan.; Mr. and Mrs. Will Mize, De Soto, Kan.; Mr. and Mrs. Tom More and Mrs. Julius Reitz, Gardner,, Kan.; Mr. Newt Mangold, Holliday, Kan.
