The Life of Alvah George Newton

ALVAH G. NEWTON DEAD.

Alva G. Newton, one of Olathe's aged and respected citizens passed away at his home on south Water street Monday morning at 9:30. He had reached the age of 82 years, 7 months and 27 days. Mr. Newton had been failing in health for several months and about two weeks ago was stricken with apoplexy of which he died. The funeral services were held at his home Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Mrs. Love, a spiritualist of Lawrence, and by the G. A. R. of which Mr. Newton was a faithful member. Interment was made in the Olathe cemetery. ive children survive the deceased, Mrs. Lloyd Hamil of Olathe, Mrs. Jennie Mittendorf of Phoenix, Ariz., Dal. Newton of Stanley, George Newton of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ernest Newton of Clafllin, Kansas.
