After a distressing and lingering illness, Miss Elina Beckwith (Elvira), at 2 o,clock A.M. on Sunday, April 30,

Though for more than a year a victim of a cancer, her death does not seem to have been caused by that but by an affection of the stomach. She had been expecting death, and yet it came as usual in an UNEXPECATED way. She had done her work for she did literally “what she could” and the wish f her last audible utterance twenty-four hours before death “I want to go home,” has been granted. Though for a long time an extreme and constant sufferer, her resignation never failed her nor was her faith obscured, and it is a source of satisfaction to feel so well assured that she is now “where the wicked cease from suffering and the weary are at rest.”
