The Life of EVA ANN DOBRIN FROST

Eva A. Dobrin-Frost, 83, passed away on November 2, 2015. Eva was born in Kansas City, MO on May 10, 1932 to Labe and Eva Mendelsohn. She married Michael M. Dobrin in 1951 and moved their young family to Des Moines in 1961 where together they owned and operated Gilbreath Upholstery Supply until Michael’s passing in 1976. Eva then continued to actively operate the business until her retirement at age 76 when the business was sold. Eva married Raymond H. Frost, Jr. in 1985. They shared a deep bond and friendship, being nearly inseparable, until Raymond’s passing in 2012.

Eva was an exceptionally giving woman. She never knew a stranger; extending kindness to anyone she met. Her greatest joy in life was being able to extend warmth, love and generosity to others. One of her greatest pleasures was spending time with children. Her tireless work ethic and giving heart benefitted so many. She will be deeply missed.

Eva is survived by her daughters, Michele Dobrin, Sonia Steen and RheaAnn (Bob) Clewell; grandson, Nicholas Clewell; honorary daughters, Mary Rupe and Janet Samuelson; brother, Labe (Janie) Mendelsohn, Jr.; and a niece, nephew, and two great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marie Cohen.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm, Friday, November 6, 2015 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. Burial will be private.
