The Life of VIRGINIA JEANE CAREY HARDY
Virginia Jeane Carey, 80, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa on December 10, 1934, to Howard and Eloise Stark. Virginia was a proud alumna of East High School, Class of 1953.
Virginia had a strong independent spirit and was passionately devoted to her family. She loved the outdoors, traveling and being with her family. She was a member of Grandview Park Baptist Church while living in Des Moines and Central Baptist Church of Bearden, TN where she was active in the Women’s Missionary Union.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Stephen Carey, Richard (Deborah) Carey and Jeffrey Carey; grandchildren, Lucas Carey, Dustin Carey, Eric (Kalia) Carey, and Lauren Carey; brother, Russell (Linda) Stark; as well as other loving family and countless friends.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at
Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Ave., Des Moines.
