The Life of ROBERT LUCIEN MILLIMAN

Robert " Bob" L. Milliman, 89, passed away March 1, 2015 at UnityPoint Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Iles Westover Chapel. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 4 at the funeral home.

Bob was born in Des Moines on January 29, 1926 to Harry and Madeline Milliman. Bob graduated from East High School and was then drafted into the US Army. He served during World War II in the Pacific from 1944-1946. In 1947 he was united in marriage to Twylla Kurschinski at St. Paul''s Lutheran Church in Des Moines. In 1964 the family moved to Kansas City, MO, where Bob worked for AT&T until his retirement in 1982. After retirement they returned to Des Moines, where Bob tuned and repaired church organs.

Bob was a life member of the Beaverdale V.F.W Post 9127, Urbandale American Legion #663, and the Telephone Pioneers. Bob and Twylla loved to play golf and travel.

Bob is survived by his wife of 67 years, Twylla; daughters, Norma (Robert) Rees of Jasper, MO and Polly Milliman of Newton, IA; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; and two brothers, William (Barbara) Milliman of Carlisle and Paul (Kate) Milliman of Aurora, IL. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeff; grandson, Kyle and a brother, Harry.
