The Life of JEROME FRANCIS HALDER

Jerome "Jerry" Halder, 93, of Webster City, Iowa and formerly of Iowa Falls, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014, at the Southfield Wellness Center, Webster City, Iowa.  Funeral services for Jerome "Jerry" Halder will be 10:30 Saturday, December 27, 2014, at the Linn''s Funeral Home, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa.  A time of visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 26th, also at the Linn''s Funeral Home.  Burial will be at the Northlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, Iowa Falls, with military honors provided by the US Army Honor Squad and the Hyman-Peavey American Legion Post #188, Iowa Falls.

Jerome Francis Halder was born May 2, 1921, at Pocahontas, Iowa, the son of Fred E. Halder and Annie V. (Grimm) Halder.  He was raised in Mallard and Pocahontas.  He attended the Mallard and Pocahontas Community Schools, graduating from Pocahontas High School with the class of 1939.  He served in the United Sates Army during World War II.  He worked as a mason, mostly with Union #2, Des Moines, Iowa.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Iowa Falls, and a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1331, and the Hyman-Peavey American Legion Post #188, Iowa Falls. 

Jerome Halder is survived by two sons; Jerry (Donna) Halder of Pocahontas, Iowa, Robert (Judy) Halder of Alta, Iowa; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ann Truog of Emmetsburg, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Mary Halder.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Annie Halder; three wives, Doris Halder, Margaret Halder, and Evelyn Halder; two sons, James "Casey" and Jon Halder; three brothers, Clair Halder, Fabain Halder and one in infancy; an infant sister, Catherine; and a brother-in-law, Ulrich Truog.
