The Life of Thomasine Oliver
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 23, 2014 in the Delhomme Funeral Home Chapel of the Flowers for Thomasine Ward Oliver, 80, who passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 1:20 am at Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, LA
Reverend Whitney Alexander will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Oliver, a resident of Port Arthur, LA was the daughter of the late Thomas Ward and the former Ruby Saunders.
Tommye was a devoted wife to her beloved Bo, a loving mother to Kasie and Kellye, and a true friend to all those who knew her. She grew up in Port Arthur, spent several years in Lafayette, Venezuela and Colorado before spending the last decade of her life back in Texas with Kenneth, her lifelong friend and confidante. Beautiful, kind and sweet are words that describe Tommye, but taking care of others and putting their needs ahead of her own is how she will always be remembered. She loved to laugh, dance and play bridge with her dear friends. We love you Tommye. You will always be in our hearts.
She is survived by her daughters, Kasie C. Oliver Mejia and Kellye S. Terranova; her four grandchildren, Tayler, Morgan, Kristina and Hannah; four great grandchildren; her brother, Robert Malcolm Ward and wife Mary.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of twenty eight years, Charlie Hubert Oliver.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand Drive on Saturday August 23, 2014 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made in Thomasine Oliver’s name to The Carpenter House 10615 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70809.
