The Life of CHEAM CHEAS

Cheam Cheas, 60, was born October 6, 1953 in Kampong Speu, Cambodia. She passed away March 11, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Cheam was a member of the Cambodian Temple where she enjoyed volunteering. She also enjoyed gardening and watching Thai/Cambodian soap operas. Cheam loved cooking for her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

Cheam is survived by her children, Yeth (Trak Tip) Yin and Jane (Tib Cavan) Yin; grandchildren, Darren Yin, Emily Yin, Caleb Yin, Steven Cavan and Cedrick Cavan; her brother and sister in Cambodia; as well as many nieces and nephews in Iowa and Cambodia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Yin Kray; daughter, Caitlyn Yin; and her brother-in-law, Ang Chhem.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue. The family will greet friends Sunday afternoon from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 17th at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
