Obituary for Carmine Mancini

WARREN – There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Parish-St. James Church, Warren, with Father James Walker officiating, preceded by a 10:30 a.m. prayer service held at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1883 North Road NE, for Carmine Mancini, 76, who died Wednesday evening, Feb. 5, 2014.

Carmine was born Sept. 16, 1937, in Boiano, Italy, the son of Domenico and Concetta (Priola) Mancini, and moved to Canada and then the United States in 1957.

He was the owner and operator of Carmen’s Pizza Shop from 1963 until 1973 and then become a baker for numerous grocery stores for many years in the area.

Carmine was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Parish-St. James Church.

He enjoyed gardening and playing bocce, but he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He leaves behind to hold on to his precious memories, his wife of over 53 years, the former Josephine Ruscitti, whom he married on Nov. 26, 1960; two children, Dominic (Anna) Mancini of Raleigh, N.C. and Gina (Antonio) DiSalvo of Howland; four grandchildren, Tony, Daniela and Marisa DiSalvo, and Christian Mancini; a brother, Bartolomeo (Anna) Mancini; and a sister, Aurelia DiRe, both of Montreal, Canada.

Besides his parents, Carmine was preceded in death by two brothers, Guglielmo and Felice Mancini; and two sisters, Assunta Martelli and Antonetta Mancini.

Family and friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and Monday from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren.

Entombment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield.
