Obituary for Marie A. Gordon
Marie A. Gordon, 83, of Chester Township, passed away Feb. 9, 2014, in Mayfield Heights. Born Nov. 6, 1930, in Cleveland, she had been a Chester Township resident for over 50 years. A homemaker, Mrs. Gordon had a longtime involvement with the Metzenbaum Center and the Geauga County Board of MRDD. She was also a member of the Sweet Adelines. Survivors are her sons, Ernie (Rena) Thompson, Louis Thompson, and Johnny Gordon; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sisters, Betty (Gerald) Dolan and Pauline Krznarich. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, John; daughters, June and Joy Gordon; grandchildren, Jennifer and Matthew Thompson; and brothers, Louis and Joseph Papotta. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home. Burial will be at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township. Visitation will be from Tuesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home
