Obituary for Sam Cianciola

YOUNGSTOWN – There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown, with Father John Keehner officiating, preceded by a 9 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Sam V. Cianciola Sr., 72, who passed away Jan. 21, 2014, at Hospice By The Sea in Hollywood, Fla., with his loving family by his side.

Sam will always be remembered and loved for his smile, outgoing personality and generosity along with being a great husband, father, uncle, cousin, friend and boss to all who he touched throughout his life.

He was born Dec. 24, 1941, in Youngstown, the son of James and Julia (Cordova) Cianciola.

Sam attended Woodrow Wilson High School and was a member of St. Christine Church and Salem Hills Country Club. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with his family and friends.

Sam had a wonderful work ethic and owned many businesses throughout the years; Pyatt Street Market (family owned produce business), a Christmas Tree Farm, the village Fruit Markets, Hi Style Men’s Wear, West King Menswear, Mr. C’s Creamy Top, Dazzling Diamonds, Samuel Jewelers, Austintown Pawn Shop, Advance Check Cashing, Climate Control and the Regency House Banquet Center along with being an associate manager for 18 years with Western & Southern Life Insurance Company, where he was the first person within the company to sell 1 Million dollars in insurance policies.

He leaves behind to hold on to his precious memories, his wife of over 52 years Joan (DeLucia) Cianciola, whom he married on Oct. 21, 1961; a daughter, Lisa Ann Cianciola of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a son, Sam V. Cianciola Jr. of Boardman; a sister, Debra Gianfrancesco; a niece, Rena Cianciola; and his beloved pet dog, Mia Bella.

Besides his parents, Sam was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia West.

Friends may call on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.

Entombment will take place at Green Haven Cemetery, Canfield.

In lieu of flowers, material contributions may be made in Sam’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
