Obituary for Martha V Rogers

MARTHA ''MARTY'' V. ROGERS
 

 

YOUNGSTOWN - Martha “Marty” V. Rogers, 77, passed away Jan. 10, 2014.

Martha was born Jan. 16, 1936, in St. Marys, W.Va., to the  late Donald E. “Brandy” and Elizabeth (Roden) Riggs.

Martha was the co-owner of the Chaney Isaly’s with her husband, Bruce E. Rogers, retiring in 1977. She stayed active by volunteering with VFW Post No. 4237 and the Austintown Eagles 3298. Martha was an avid Bingo and card player and also enjoyed crocheting.

Left to mourn Martha’s passing are her children, Robert Rogers of Austintown, Kimberly D. Rogers of Austintown, and Bruce E. (Sharon) Rogers of Cortland; her grandchildren, Amy (Kenny) Rogers, Bruce E. (Sabrina) Rogers III, and Cheyenne Rogers; her great-grandchildren, Owen, Kenneth, and Kyla; her brother, James Riggs; her brother-in-law, Glenn L. Rogers of Pennsboro, W.Va.; and her nieces and nephews.

Martha was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bruce E. Rogers, who passed away Jan. 15, 2002; and her brother, Eugene Riggs. 

The family will receive friends on Monday, Jan. 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, where a funeral service will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 11 a.m.

Entombment to follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
