Obituary for Robert M Milne

ROBERT M. MILNE

AUSTINTOWN – Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Austintown Community Church for Robert M. Milne, 72, who died Monday evening at St. Joseph Hospital.

Robert was born July 25, 1941, in East Liverpool, the son of Robert Malcolm and Marjorie K.

Life was simple for Bob; faith, family and his country were his priorities.

He was a member of the Austintown Community Church, participating in the life and worship with his church family, a member of Gideon’s International Southwest Camp and was honored to be the Chaplain of American Legion Post 301, Austintown.

Bob served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1964, was a member of Ohio Army National Guard, retiring as a full time employee. He operated R.M. Heating and Cooling Company in the 70s and early 80s, and taught his trade at Choffin Career Center.

His greatest joy came from sharing life for almost 50 years with his wife, Linda (McIntosh) and watching his three sons, John (Karen) of Washington, Pa., Dave (Cari) of Austintown, and Dennis (Angie) of Shelby, N.C., grow into fine men and husbands. He was most fortunate to spend quality time with grandsons David and Bradley of Austintown and welcome the twins, Andrew and Owen into the family.

Bob leaves his mother and sister Vicki (John) Keil of East Liverpool; his brother-in-law, Ken (Carol) McIntosh of Macon, Ga.; and other family and many friends.

Family and friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, and Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at church.

The American Legion post 301 will hold a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. on Friday during calling hours.

The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Gideons International, the Youngstown SW Camp, P.O. Box 2751, Youngstown, OH 44507-2751
