Obituary for Martha Geckler
Martha Geckler age 88, of Canton, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013 in the Hospitality House, following an extended illness. She was born in Byesville, Ohio on June 26, 1925 to the late, John and Susan Gamary. Martha was employed as a sales clerk with KMart for 22 years, retiring in 1990. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Geckler in 1972; her son, Gary L. Geckler in 2007; her daughter, Susan M. Geckler in 2009; sisters, Betty Thomas, Elsie Schuniak, Velma Ricker and Mildred Ledger; and her brother, John Gamery. Survivors include her grandchildren, Melissa Neff of North Canton and Gary Geckler of Massillon; five great-grandchildren; her brother, Ernie Gamary; sister, Margaret Lyons and daughter-in-law, Edith Geckler. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice of Stark County, 408 9th St. SW, Canton, OH 44707. The Reed Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements
