Obituary for Joseph Soriano

JOSEPH SORIANO YOUNGSTOWN – Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at 9 a.m. at the Christ United Presbyterian Church in Youngstown for Joseph Soriano, 86, who died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at Hospice House. He was born was born Feb. 14, 1927, in Youngstown, a son of the late Joaquin and Antonia Sanz Soriano. He was a graduate of East High School and worked for General Fireproofing in the Maintenance Department for 40 years. Joseph served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Victory Ribbon. He was a member of the Christ United Presbyterian Church and took pride in working in his yard and spending time with his loving grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Janet Sorber Soriano, whom he married in 1955; his son, Frank (Jane) Soriano in Austintown; his daughter, Jodie (Thomas) Hart in Boardman; a sister, Julia Esseniyi in Poland; and four grandchildren, Kelli (Scott) Hunter, Ryan Hart, Heidi Soriano and Joseph Soriano. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Frank and Jack Soriano and Elias Sanchez; and one sister, Elvira Horvath. Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home Inc., Youngstown. Donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley.
