Obituary for Betty S Rains
Services for Betty Sue (Throneburg) Rains, 77, of Eastlake, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home. Mrs. Rains passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013.Born Dec. 28, 1935, in Hickory, N.C., she has lived in Eastlake for the past 55 years. She was a longtime member of Willo-Hill Baptist Church in Willoughby and more recently, a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Painesville. Mrs. Rains was a beautician, having worked for the former Giant Tiger store in Willoughby. Survivors are her husband of 60 years, Herman; children, Janet (David) VanderWier of Osceola, Ind.; Clint (Debbie) Rains of Painesville and Linda (James) Butler of Rock Spring, Ga.; grandchildren, Tanya, David, Jill, Lisa, Troy, Travis, James, Rachel, Steven, Rebekah and Christy; and eight great-grandchildren. She ""loved her grandkids"" and kept her ""candy store"" supplied for them.She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Throneburg; her mother, Myrtice (Dameron) Billey; stepfather, Joe Billey; sister, Patricia Workman; and brother, Donnie Throneburg. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at the funeral home. The Rev. Arlie Spargur of Lakeside Baptist Church will officiate at the service on Friday. Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township.
