Obituary for William Jreome Sanders
WILLIAM JEROME ''DUBA'' SANDERS
YOUNGSTOWN – William Jerome “Duba” Sanders was born on Sept. 16, 1950, in Birmingham, Ala. He was the seventh of 12 children born to the late Felix and Earnestine (Waller) Sanders.
William, “Duba,” attended Farrell Public Schools, and graduated from Farrell High School in 1969.
He was married to Fonda (Said) and to this union one daughter, Desiree, was born. He had two grandchildren, Amir and Alyssa, to which he was a loving grandfather. William had two stepsons, Dante and Tommy .
He worked at Sharon Steel from 1969 to 1996 as a Millwright. William was industrious and a “go getter!” He had many various careers that centered mainly on sales. He loved sales. He sold homes, cars, insurance, etc.
William, “Duba,” enjoyed his family and showed his love consistently and affectionately to his grandchildren. He was a member of the Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church and was a part of the men’s ministry. He regularly attended and supported Ernest Angley Ministries. He was a man after God’s Heart and whenever you engaged him in a conversation he would not miss the opportunity to talk about the Greatness of God.
William Jerome Sanders leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted daughter, Desiree Sanders of Girard; two grandchildren, Amir and Alyssa of Girard; two stepsons, Dante’ of Farrell, Pa. and Tommy of Youngstown; three sisters, Dorothy Timpson, Susie Alston (Pearlie) and Dorethea Hartley, all of Fayetteville, N.C.; four brothers, Lee Sanders, Robert Sanders and Willie “Skippy” Sanders, all of Farrell and Calvin Sanders of Fayetteville; and a cousin who was ‘like a sister,” Towana Gatewood of Pittsburgh. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Felix Sanders, John Sanders and Roosevelt Timpson; and a sister, Christine Pugh.
Services will be on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church. Friends may call one hour prior to the services from 10 to 11 a.m.
