Obituary for William R Handwork

WILLIAM HANDWORK  

POLAND – William Handwork, 80, formerly of Austintown and Ocala, Fla., passed away Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Hospice of the Valley in Poland.

William was born July 23, 1933, to parents, Russell and Edna (Helsel) Handwork.

William married Anne Linebaugh on May 10, 1957, and together they had two beautiful children.

William served his country proudly with the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict.

William was a pipe fitter and member of Plumbers-Steamfitters Local 87. He actively worked as a plumber and pipe fitter for more than 40 years.

William lost his wife, Anne, on July 23, 2007.

He was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his five grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Dr. Larry (Colleen) Handwork of Canton; daughter, Sharon (Rich) Gunter of Austintown; grandchildren, Lauren, Patrick, and Erin Handwork, Richard and Derek Gunter; and companion, Marilyn Hess.

William was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Anne.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel from 6 to 7 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions made in Williams’s memory to Hospice of the Valley, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, OH 44514.
