Obituary for Aleatha Turner

Aleatha Turner

Aleatha Turner passed October 11, 2013, at Akron City Hospital after a brief illness. Aleatha was born in Wesson, Mississippi on September 18, 1942 to Virgil and Lara (DeMyers) Robinson.

She attended Barberton High School. Aleatha was employed by Concordia at Sumner in the hospitality department. She was also a caregiver in the community for several years, a member of the House of The Lord, former member of the Jolly 12 and Helping Hand Social Clubs. Aleatha married Frank Turner, Jr. on October 2, 1960, and from this union they brought forth six children.

She was preceded in death by parents, Virgil and Lara Robinson; sister, Eula Mae Robinson; brothers, Virgil Lee Robinson, Sr. and Hollis Ray Robinson; sister, Ruby Lee Robinson; grandson, Jeris Elon Bivins; brothers-in-law, Elder Arnold Cheatham, Gene Anderson, Sr., Aaron Harris, Henry B. Turner, Gilbert Ball, and James A. Shy, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Robinson and Ruth Robinson; mother and father-in-law, Frank and Bertha B. Turner. She is survived by, Frank Turner, Jr.; children, Jacqueline (Arthur) Bryant, Frankie Turner, III, Aleasha (Anthony) Turner-Knight, Dean Allen (Wendy) Turner, Diana (Stanley) Turner-Boyer, and Dinah "Issy" (Dennis) Coleman; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ola Mae Cheatham, Dollie Mae Anderson, Arlene Shy, Jesse Robinson, Emma Fay (Willie) Jones, Suzanne Ball, Mary Jane Harris, and Percy Quinn Robinson; sister-in-law Barbara Turner; special friends, Dehaviland Lewis, Gracie Burr, Ann Graham, Gloria Blash, Mary Sneed, Gerri Eddings; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at Stewart & Calhoun, located at 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH, THIS Friday, October 18, 2013 at 12 p.m. The family will receive guest from 11 a.m. until time of service, Rev, Curtis Minter Sr., Eulogizing. Interment at Mt.
