Obituary for Carol L Johnson

CAROL L. JOHNSON YOUNGSTOWN – On a wonderful winter Valentine’s day in the year of 1951, God blessed us with a beautiful bundle of joy. Baby Carol was born in Youngstown and became a part of a large and loving family. Her earthly life came to its end on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, and she now rejoins her loved ones gone before her in Heaven. Carol, one of 11 children, was raised by her parents, Melvin and Laura Graffius, and was a lifelong area resident. She was a homemaker who raised a family of her own and was an active member of Gospel Baptist Church in Poland. She will be dearly missed by her children, Louis E. (Robin) Johnson, Shannon M. Pope, John G. Johnson, and Stacey L. Harden; her grandchildren, Casshan, Justin, Micah and Khie’la; her mother, Laura Graffius of Clearfield, Pa.; her longtime companion, Robert Kieper; and her nine siblings, Darrell (Denise) Graffius, Tim (Denise) Graffius, Betty (Bill) Buck, Lori (Tom) Tyrell, April Holtzinan, Tamme (Larry) Lindolph, Linda (Ron) Fulmer, Jerry (Marcia) Graffius and Maryann (Jim) While. Her father, and a sister, Sally Humes, preceded her in death. Family and friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Gospel Baptist Church, 6235 Clingan Road in Poland, where a funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. A committal service will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Austintown.
