Obituary for Robert D Simpson

“Together Again”

AUSTINTOWN – Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, for Mr. Robert D. Simpson, 84, who died early Thursday morning at Humility House.

Robert was born Dec. 12, 1926, in Youngstown, a son of Forrest and Mary Lee Jones Simpson.

He was a Navy World War II veteran, had worked at East Ohio Gas for 36 years in the customer service department and was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God.

Robert enjoyed camping, woodworking and helping others, especially when they needed something fixed.

He married Mary Frances Reiley May 5, 1951, and they were married for 61 years. Mary Frances died Oct. 31, 2012.

Robert leaves two daughters, Katherine (Rob) Folsom of Canfield and Karla Simpson of Cape Coral, Fla.; a son, Kenneth (Mary) Simpson of Broadview Heights; a sister, Sarah Hazen of Pennsylvania; a brother, David Simpson of San Diego; five grandchildren, Christopher (Heather) Simpson, Jennifer (Gus) Lunsford, Eric (Angelica) Folsom, Troy and Kyle Folsom; and seven great-grandchildren, Avery, Gabriele, Delaney, Conroy, Zachary, Nicolas and Angelina.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Frances; a brother, Edward Lee Snyder; and a grandson, Robert Simpson.

Friends may call Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
