Obituary for June E Dahlgren

YOUNGSTOWN – Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Bethel Lutheran Church for June E. Dahlgren, 90, who passed away Wednesday morning at home.

She was born June 19, 1923, in Youngstown, to Carl and Alfhild (Nyberg) Dahlgren.

June was a 1941 graduate of Chaney High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University.

She taught for the Struthers City Schools for 35 years and retired in 1990. June was a life long member of the Bethel Lutheran Church, where she sang in the church choir for over 60 years. She was also a member of the bell choir. June was a member of the Mahoning Valley Retired Teacher Association and the Ohio State Teachers Retirement Association. June was an amazing person who touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

June is loved and missed by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five sisters, Gail Dahlgren, Patricia (Arnold) Leyshon, Carol Dahlgren, Marilyn Dahlgren, and Janet (Norris) Boyer; and three brothers, Carl Jr. (Katherine), Robert (Mildred) and Jack (Ruth) Dahlgren.

Family and friends may call Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Bethel Lutheran Church.

Memorial tributes may take the form of donations to the Bethel Lutheran Church or Hospice of the Valley.
