Obituary for Angelo Diloreto

YOUNGSTOWN – Prayers will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Fox Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Church celebrated by Fr. Joseph Fata for Angelo A. DiLoreto, 91, who passed away Tuesday morning at Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family.

Angelo was born Dec. 23, 1921, in Midland, Pa., the son of Dominic and Josephine Campana DiLoreto, and had been an area resident since 1937.

He attended Woodrow Wilson High School and served in the Army during World War II. He served for three years in the Field Artillery with the 95th Infantry. After returning home from the service, Angelo was employed at the Mahoning Valley Distributing Agency for 44 years until retiring in 1987.

He was a long time parishioner of St. Luke’s Parish, its Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus 4471 Council. He was a member and trustee of the Sons of Italy Lodge No. 858 and Itam Club Post No. 2.

His wife, Margaret E. DeVito, whom he married April 12, 1947, died on Feb. 28, 1999, after 51 years of marriage.

He will be greatly missed by two sons, Dominic A. (Jessie) DiLoreto of Canfield and Joseph A. (Susan) DiLoreto of Poland; his daughter, Patricia DiLoreto of Poland; five grandchildren, Anna Marie (Bill Whetstone) DiLoreto, Angie (Gus) Lolakis, Kara (Jason) Clark, Douglas DiLoreto and Daniel DiLoreto; and six great-grandchildren, Gwendolyn Lolakis, Andrew Clark, Elizabeth DiLoreto, Julia Clark, Owen Lolakis, and Lillian DiLoreto.

Besides his parents and his wife, Margaret, Angelo was preceded in death by his two sisters, Mary Troll (who raised him) and Angeline Partezana.

Friends and family may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.

Angelo’s family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Hospice House for the compassion and loving care they extended to Angelo.

In lieu of flowers, the family request monetary donations to be made in Angelo’s name to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, OH 44514
