Robert Louis "Toby" Blank (1931 - 2013) Funeral Mass for Robert Louis ""Toby"" Blank, 82, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor. Fr. Tim Plavac will officiate. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.Mr. Blank passed away Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at Altercare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Concord Township.Born July 22, 1931, in Johnstown, Pa., he had been a Lake County resident for the past 59 years, residing in Mentor.Mr. Blank was a founding member of St. Bede the Venerable Church, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War.Toby was an avid golfer and bowler. He enjoyed baseball, and loved sitting behind home plate and cheering. He had an admirable sense of humor.Mr. Blank was the beloved husband of 59 years to Jean D. (nee Gramling) Blank; loving father of Christine M. (Randy) Thacker of Houston, Texas, and Roxanne (Edwin) Shiner, Robert A. Blank and Ronald J. (Ruthann) Blank, all of Mentor; cherished grandfather of Brandy, Mark, Tina, Windy, Amy and Laura; best ""Papa Shunga"" of Andrea, Michael, Amanda, Aidan and Addison; brother of Dorothy Bolvin, Lawrence ""Larny"" (Jenny) Blank, and Helen (Luke) Speicher; brother-in-law of Bernie Blank; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Frances (nee Bader) Blank; and siblings, Eugene ""Bud"" Blank, Lee Weller, Irene ""Rini"" Fyock and Mildred ""Mitzi"" Meeks. He was also brother-in-law to the late Robert Bolvin, Herman Weller, Delmar Meeks and Fay Fyock.
