Obituary for THERESA FAYE SMITH
Theresa Faye Smith, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 19, 2013, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Her family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Iles Funeral Homes - Granview Park Chapel. Burial of her urn will be at a later date.
Theresa was born in Lexington, KY on November 3, 1950 to Delores (Richardson) and William Wallace. She has lived in Des Moines over 40 years. She worked at Blue Cross/Blue Shield (Wellmark) Insurance for many years where she met her husband, Dick Smith. Later she joined the office team of Radiation Oncology at the John Stoddard Cancer Center. She enjoyed cooking for everyone, caring for all animals, especially her cats, and looking forward each year to the Kentucky Derby.
Theresa will be greatly missed by her husband of 32 years, Dick; three daughters, Lisa Wilson (John Annis), Jenny (Jim) West, and Heather (Aaron) Bucklin; step son, Aaron Smith; step daugther, Autumn (Rob) Green; seven grandchildren; three brothers and a sister. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Debra.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League.
