Obituary for RITA L KASPRZAK

Rita L. Kasprzak Rita L. (Shaaber) Kasprzak, 80, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away January 22, 2021 in Penn State-St. Joseph Medical Center. She was the wife of David M. Kasprzak, whom she married on May 6, 1961 in St. Catharine of Siena R.C. Church. Born in Grill, she was a daughter of the late Robert M Shaaber and Mary C. (Gierschick) Shaaber. Rita was a 1958 graduate of Reading Catholic High School and retired from CNA in 1997. She was a devoted member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Reading. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Christopher M., Sr., husband of Stacy Kasprzak of Kenhorst and Anthony J. Sr., husband of Paula Kasprzak of Reinholds. There are two daughters, Caroline M. Kasprzak of Muhlenberg Township and Theresa L. Schaeffer, widow of Kyle K. Schaeffer of Reading. Other survivors include a brother, Thomas E. Shaaber, husband of Barbara of Wernersville, a sister, Ruth D. Mountz, wife of Charles of Stoney Creek Mills, 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Rita was pre-deceased by a daughter, Cynthia R. O’Leary, a granddaughter, Kaja B. O’Leary and by great grandsons, Skyler M. Reed and Noah P. O’Leary, two brothers, Robert M. Shaaber, Jr. and Michael J. Shaaber and by three sisters, Mary C. Landis, Rosina D. Shaaber and Virginia C. Hartman. A Mass of Christian Burial and interment in Gethsemane Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family.
