Obituary for David M. Sevick

David M. Sevick, age 69 of Ansonia, beloved husband of the late Nancy Ann Plishka Sevick, died July 8, 2013, at the Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, New London, as a result of complications received from an accidental fall, just 70 days following his wife’s passing. Born in Ankeny, IA on July 29, 1943, he was the son of the late Richard and Colene Frances Whitehead Sevick. Mr. Sevick was a resident of Ansonia for 10 years, previously of Shelton and Stratford. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War and worked as a Feeder Driver for the United Parcel Service for over 30 years, before his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, Local 191, Bridgeport, the CT Sweepstake Club, and was a longtime, loyal fan of the NY Mets. Mr. Sevick is survived by his devoted sons, Christopher D. Sevick and his wife, Sarah of Norwich and Todd N. Sevick of Ansonia; sister, Joan Bajorinas of Stratford; brother, Douglas Sevick and his wife, Cheryl of MD; brother-in-law, Nicholas Plishka of Rocky Hill and cherished grandchildren, Ian and Aiden Sevick. In addition to his wife of 45 years, he was predeceased by a sister, Elaine Dodson. A Mass of Christian Burial, Meeting Directly at Church, will be celebrated in St. Margaret Mary Church, 380 Long Hill Ave., Shelton, on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Interment with full military honors will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
