Obituary for Michael E Jr Rakocy
MICHAEL E. RAKOCY JREmail | NORTH CANTON – Michael E. Rakocy Jr., 59, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013, in the comfort of his home.
He was born in Youngstown, on Sept. 17, 1953.
Michael was a 1980 graduate of Youngstown State University. He was employed as a District Manager for Babcock & Wilcox, overseeing the Akron Sales and Service.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church of North Canton and enjoyed golf and skiing.
He will always be remembered as a loving and wonderful husband and father.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Michael Rakocy Sr.
Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Sandra Rakocy; two sons, Stephen and Sam Rakocy; his mother, Rose Rakocy; two sisters, Cheryle (Randy) Morgan and Bernadette (Skip) Durkos; three nieces, Gina and Deanna Durkos and Tamara Bastian; and one nephew, Ryan Morgan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church of North Canton, with the Rev. Msgr. James A. Clarke as Celebrant.
Burial will be at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield.
Calling hours will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Reed Funeral Home, North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. NW.
The family would like to thank their wonderful friends and B&W family for all of their support. A special thank you to the Mercy Hospice Program, especially Michael’s nurses, Wendy, Donna and Cheryl.
