Obituary for James M. Gormley

James M. Gormley, 60, of Mentor for the past 16 years, died June 16, 2013, at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights. He was born December 14, 1952, in Glasgow, Scotland. Jim came to the United States at the age of four and grew up in Painesville. He graduated from Harvey High School in 1971. He was owner operator of J. Gormley Roofing & Remodeling for 35 years. Jim was a lifetime follower of Jesus Christ. Every day he carried out the command of Jesus to love God with all of his heart and to love his neighbor. He loved flying, having his private pilot''s license, enjoyed golf, music, and playing the guitar. Survivors include his loving wife, Dolores "Dee"; stepdaughters, Pamela Montgomery of Willoughby and Kristen (Brian) Otte of Lyndhurst; grandson, Alexander Montgomery; sister, Carol (Robert) Lipus of Madison; nieces, Gillian (Jonathan) Goodman, Suzanne Gromosky; and great-niece, Hannah Goodman. He was preceded in death by his father, Matthew Gormley; mother, Isabella Fryer; stepfather, Ludwig "Bud" Fryer; and son-in-law, Brian Montgomery. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Painesville United Methodist Church, 71 North Park Place, Painesville. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township.>>
