Larry Dellinger 1942-2009

NILES - Larry B. Dellinger, 67, of 2991 Anderson Morris Road, died 11:40 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at his residence following a four-and-a-half month illness.

Larry was born Jan. 4, 1942, in Warren, the son of Nicholas and Amelia Stauffer Dellinger, spending his lifetime here. A U.S. Army Korean Conflict veteran, he had been employed by Soda Construction and worked for several other companies as a carpenter, and was a member of Local # 171. He was also a bridge construction worker for his employers.

He independently built three homes, was a "jack of all trades" and was extremely creative and artistic. He enjoyed fishing, camping, all aspects of nature and was an ardent NASCAR fan. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and enthusiast.

He was preceded in death by brother, Robert ''''Sonny'''' Dellinger; four sisters, Marion McCloskey, Jeanette Gallite, Lorraine Piecuch and Lillian Dellinger.

Larry is survived by his family, which includes his wife, the former Carol N. Vigorito, whom he married Feb. 22, 1972; his two daughters, Nicole L. Niewoehner, formerly of Corpus Christi, Texas, recently returning home, Nina M. Miller and her husband Richard of Austintown; grandson Jonathon Taylor Niewoehner; five sisters, Dorothy Mariani of Masury, Betty Shorthouse of Winter Park, Fla., Gladys Barnhart and her husband Ray of Pulaski, Pa., Thelma Johnson of Howland, Sally Bacher of Mineral Ridge and several nieces and nephews.
