Obituary for Ruth Petzold Johnson
Ruth Johnson, age 92, loving wife of the late Albert Johnson and Ansonia resident, entered into eternal rest April 10. She was born Jan. 2, 1921 in Somerville, MA to the late William & Eleanor Petzold. She moved to Ansonia in 1928. She earned a degree in Pediatric nursing from Coit Memorial Babies Hospital in Newark, N.J. and worked for many years as a private duty infant nurse and in the nursery at the Hospital of St. Raphael’s. She was a foster parent to many babies. She also enjoyed camping, knitting & quilt making. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Lori Forto & husband Tony of Ansonia, and sons Richard Johnson & wife Wanda of Bethlehem, CT & Carl Johnson of Houston, TX, as well as several nieces & nephews. She loved spending time with her grandchildren Sean, Diane, Richard & Jeremy, and her great grandchildren Skylar, Brooke, Shane, Pierce, Brianna & Natalie. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her son Leonard, sisters Eileen, Marion & Barbara and brothers William & John. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 15th at 10:00 a.m. from The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia.
