Obituary for Howard Washington

Howard Carl Washington, Sr., 59 of Ansonia, CT entered into eternal rest after a brief illness on Resurrection Sunday March 31, 2013 in Yale New Haven Hospital, St Raphael’s Campus surrounded by his family. He was born May 21, 1953 in Ansonia, CT, son of Virginia Martin Perry (the late Claude L. Perry Sr.) of Ansonia and the late Frederick Washington of Ansonia. He is survived by his loving children that he adored, LaTonya Capriece Washington of Hamden and Howard Carl Washington Jr. of Meriden, five brothers, Harrison Washington of Ansonia, Andrew Washington (Vanessa) of Waterbury, Timothy Washington of New Haven, Claude Perry Jr. of Cheshire, Clayton Perry of Ansonia and five sisters Janice Washington of Derby, Monica Parks of Ansonia, Sherri Thompson, Faith Thompson and Sethe Thompson all of New Haven as well as several nieces and nephews. He also had a longtime companion Jennifer Vining of Sarasota, Fl. He was predeceased by his two brothers Frederick Washington and Jerome Washington. He worked as a machinist for TRW in New Haven, CT and as a mechanic for Harley Davidson of Stamford for many years. He was also employed as a tractor-trailer driver in Sarasota, Florida. Howard will always be remembered for his kindness, compassion and willingness to help others. Howard (Weaver) loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He rode his bike from coast to coast and to Canada as well. And, in his earlier years was a member of the Desert Riders Motorcycle Club of New Haven. Funeral services will be held Friday April 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Williams Temple Church of God in Christ in Ansonia. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
