Obituary for VIRGINIA R. HIGGINS

Virginia R. “Ginny” Higgins (Savage), 74, of Exeter Township, formerly of Reading, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Reading Hospital. Ginny was the loving wife to Francis B. “Frank” Higgins III, for over 37 years, before his passing on July 20th, 2008. Born in West Reading, Ginny was the daughter of the late Luther E. Savage and Ruth V. (Marks). She was a graduate of Reading High School, class of 1966 and attend Kutztown University. Ginny worked as a bank teller for the former American Bank before her retirement in 1973.

Surviving Ginny is her children, Patrick J. Higgins, husband of Christine, of Glenmoore, and Erin C. Higgins, of Exeter Township. She is also survived by her sister Kay E. Long of Wyomissing

In addition to her husband Frank, Ginny is predeceased by her brothers, Richard Savage and Robert Savage.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022, at 11:30 AM at Saint Catharine of Siena Chapel, 2425 Perkiomen Ave, Mt. Penn, PA 19606. Rev. Brian Miller to officiate. Inurnment to follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Chapel of Saint George Mausoleum. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Homes, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township on Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Friday, November 18, 2022, in Saint Catharine of Siena Chapel, Mt. Penn. from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ginny’s memory to Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue, 60 Vera Cruz Road, Reinholds, PA 17568.
