Nevel S. Gilreath Jr. (1941-2013)
Private family services have been held for Nevel S. Gilreath Jr., 71, of Mentor.
Mr. Gilreath passed away Monday, March 18, 2013, at his home.
Born Nov. 28, 1941, in Cleveland, he was a lifelong Mentor resident.
He served in the United States Air Force for nearly four years. He was an active volunteer for many years with the Christian Children''s Fund and devoted his life to preaching about the Lord.
Mr. Gilreath was employed as a machinist at the former National Acme Corporation in Cleveland, prior to his retirement.
Survivors are his children, Nevel S. (Dawn) Gilreath III of North Ridgeville, Roxanne (Jeffrey) Lesiacsek of Painesville Township and Dana C. (Christina) Gilreath of Mentor; grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth, Logan, Lauren and Felicia; brother, Leander Gilreath of Arizona; and sisters, Leona Fredericks of Florida and Blanche Kaleal of Mentor. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and their families.
His daughter, Elizabeth passed away in 1983. His parents, Nevel S. Sr. and Blanche (Meeks) Gilreath are also deceased.
