Obituary for Richard Otterson

RICHARD M. OTTERSON YOUNGSTOWN – There will be funeral services at noon on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman, followed by a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Boardman for Richard M. Otterson, 64, who passed away at his home Saturday evening, March 16. Richard was born April 14, 1948, in Concord, N.H., the son of Melvin and Katherine (Kuras) Otterson. As a retired investment broker, he recently worked in the insurance industry, assisting the elderly with Medicare supplemental insurance. Active in the church community, he was a member of St. Christine Parish and the Holy Name Society, as well as St. Charles Choir. He was an active Shriner, member of the Masons, Lions Club, and American Heart Association. He was also an avid outdoor enthusiast who loved spending time with his family. Richard will always be loved and remembered by his wife, Faith Jane (Mesnyak) Otterson, whom he married Aug. 22, 1970; his two sons, Rick (Pam) Otterson of Austintown and Ryan (Kristin) Otterson of Girard; two grandchildren, Blake and Gianna; a sister, Kathleen (Al) Cintavey of New Hampshire; three brothers, Jon (Laura) Otterson of New Hampshire, Ted (Michelle) Otterson of Texas, and Jeffrey Otterson of New Hampshire; and several loving nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Anne Kasuba, who raised him; a sister, Nancy Otterson; and a brother, Craig Otterson.
