Obituary for Leonard N Staffrey
LEONARD N. STAFFREY JR
CANFIELD – Leonard N. Staffrey Jr., 60, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
He was born Oct. 4 1952, in Youngstown, the son of Eleanor and Leonard Staffrey Sr.
Leonard was a 1970 graduate of Fitch High School, and a retired carpenter for the Local 171 Carpenter’s Union and also an Inspector OMHC for the Central Inspector Bureau. He was the current president of the E.O.C.C. for the past 23 years. He was also a member of Brownlee Woods Gun Club, Ducks Unlimited, the Knife Club and the Federation. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt, but his one true love were his granddaughters, “his girls.”
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Sharyn Staffrey, whom he married Nov. 6, 1971; his son, Leonard Staffrey of Canfield; daughter Kimberly Ilgenfritz of Canfield; brother Gary (Christine) Staffrey of North Jackson; sister Karen (Bob) Hermes of Canfield; brother Daniel Staffrey; two granddaughters; Alyssa and Ava; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Leonard was preceded in death by a nephew, Daniel Staffrey and his parents.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. today, March 14, 2013, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Mineral Ridge Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at the Mineral Ridge Chapel.
Entombment will be at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Eastern Ohio Conservation Club.
