Obituary for Edith M DiRenzo

Edith M. (Cully) DiRenzo (1924-2013) Edith M. (Cully) DiRenzo, 88, of Mentor for the past 43 years and formerly of Willowick, died Monday, March 4, 2013, at University Hospital in Cleveland. She was born July 14, 1924, in Akron. Mrs. DiRenzo was a homemaker. She was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. Edith was a longtime member of St. John Vianney Church in Mentor, and the Eastlake Senior Center, where she was the "Sunshine Lady," and she was an accomplished seamstress. Survivors include her children, Carolyn Rastall of Mentor-on-the-Lake, Kathleen E. (Daniel) Andre of Mentor, Robert F. (Nadine) Ernst Jr. of Wickliffe and Richard W. (Barb) Ernst Sr. of Alliance; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and longtime companion, Fred Sheridan. Preceding Edith in death was her husband, Charles J. DiRenzo; daughter, Irene Bernard; grandson, Matthew Bailey; and brother, Edward T. Cully. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home Mentor. Interment will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township.
