Obituary for Florence A Kays

FLORENCE AMY KAYS YOUNGSTOWN – Florence Amy Kays, 92, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013, at Masternick Memorial Health Care in New Middletown. Born June 21, 1920, in Springfield Township, she was the daughter of Homer and Mary (Wick) Dailey. Florence attended the Youngstown Business School and worked for the Austintown School System from 1956 until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of the Amaranth Lodge in Youngstown. She had bowled on a league at West Side Lanes, and enjoyed traveling the country with her husband. Survivors include her sons, William (Shirley) Kays Jr. of Diamond and Ralph (Gail) of Rocky Point, N.C.; grandchildren Michael Kays, Raymond Kays, Steven Ruggles, Christina Ruggles Miller, Steven Kays, and Gary Kays; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and sister Jean Crum of Painesville. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Kays Sr., whom she married on April 7, 1943; her parents; sisters Joann Herritt and Grace Dailey; brothers Edward and Darrell Dailey. Friends will be received at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel on Saturday, March 9, 2013, from 10 to 11 a.m. A graveside committal service will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
