Obituary for Luella M Nanes
LUELLA M. NANES
CANFIELD- Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the First Federated Church of North Jackson for Luella M. Nanes, 84, who was granted peaceful eternal rest Monday morning at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center.
Luella was born March 29, 1928, in Youngstown to Fred and Mae (Elmer) Whitacre.
She was the office manager for the Isaly Dairy Co. for nine years, until retiring in 1954.
Luella was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church for 45 years and was currently a member of the First Federated Church. She loved gardening, knitting and crocheting, and was an accomplished seamstress.
Her husband, George Nanes, whom she married Jan. 12, 1951, passed away Feb. 10, 2003.
Luella is survived by her loving daughter, Nancy (Jodi Kirin) Nanes of Lake Milton, who provided tender and compassionate care for Luella; a son, Ken (fiancé Angela Strock) Nanes of Wooster; her dear sister, Judy (Richard) Brennan of McDonald; a granddaughter, Rachel Nanes; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friends, Audrey Gernsey and Barb Costello.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Vitez and brother, Harry Rome.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel and Thursday morning from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the First Federated Church in North Jackson.
