Obituary for Frederick Jr. Elmy
Frederick Elmy Jr., 75, of Ansonia passed January 31, 2013. Born in Nanticoke, PA on April 29, 1937, he was the loving husband of the late Kathleen M. Elmy and son of the late Frederick & Florence Elmy. Fred was a US Army veteran, University of New Haven graduate, retired engineer of Sikorsky Aircraft and an active member of the Church of the Assumption. He was the loving father of Sylvia Ann & Ronald Dumond of Lebanon, Frederick J. Elmy & Lisa Johns-Elmy of Oxford, Joseph & Jane Elmy of Acworth, GA, Brian & Eliza Elmy of Manchester and Keith & Lynn Elmy of Colchester. Fred was the proud grandfather of Ryan, Arianne, Alexa, Justin, Dylan, Zachary, Rachael, Alyssa, Kyle, Lauren and Connor Elmy, and Michael, Chelsey & Jonathan Dumond. He is survived by sisters Marlene Hillman of Atwater, CA and Betty Oriente of Philadelphia, PA, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by sister Audrey Lahr. Funeral services are Wednesday 9 AM from the Bennett Funeral Home, 91 North Cliff St., Ansonia, CT to the Church of the Assumption for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM. Calling hours are Tuesday 4 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CT Hospice, Church of the Assumption or a charity in care of the funeral home. Special thanks to the nurses, aides, companions and friends that cared for Fred through difficult times.
