Obituary for Blaine T. Bolton

Blaine T. Bolton (1924-2013) Services for Blaine T. Bolton, 88, of Mentor, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Monday, from 10 to 11 a.m. Mr. Bolton passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Hospice House in Cleveland. Born Feb. 4, 1924, in Alberta, Canada, he was a longtime Lake County resident, having attended the former McKinley Elementary School in Willoughby and Willoughby Union High School. He was a member of Willo-Hill Baptist Church in Willoughby, a former member of First Baptist Church in Willowick and was a World War II United States Marine Corps veteran. He served as a marksman and trainer in Guam, receiving his discharge as a Sergeant. He enjoyed all of the outdoors, birds, nature, fishing, hunting, reading newspapers and history books, especially about the Civil War. He was also an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. Mr. Bolton worked for his father at Bolton''s Marina in Eastlake and later at the former Daugherty Lumber in Euclid. He retired from the former Daniels Brothers Fuel Oil Company in Willoughby. Survivors are his children, Bonnie (Robin) Covic of Tucson, Ariz., Paul (Linda) Bolton of Willoughby, Tim (Debbie) Bolton of Kirtland and Allan (Sherry) Bolton of Mentor; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families. His wife of 65 years, Norma June Bolton, passed away Oct. 26, 2012. His parents, Blaine and Mable (Todd) Bolton; and sister, Barbara Sprague, are also deceased. The Revs. Paul Bolton and Todd Bolton will officiate at the service. Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to Hospice of the Western Reserve Inc., 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110-2602.
