Obituary for Richard Caldwell

Richard E. Caldwell took his first breath June 26, 1946, and his last Dec. 30, 2012, when God decided to grant him his early retirement. The husband of 28 years to Rebecca (Garry), made their home in Madison, where he enjoyed taking care of their seven kitties. Richard had his eye on retirement after working nearly every day since the ground breaking heart surgery he had at age 18. He was the hardest working man, sometimes working three jobs to provide for his family. Richard was a simple man enjoying the love of his family, his chocolate, and of course his kitties. Richard spent his entire working life working in the machining industry, working the last 20 or so years for Sopko and Sons in Euclid. His expertise was unmatched. Richard will be greatly missed by his wife; children, James (Carrie) of Leroy, Bryan of New York, Diane (Derek) Morrison of Willoughby, Melissa (Richard) Wormald, and Meredith (Gabe) Rhodes Gemma of Geneva-on-the-Lake; grandchildren, Marcus, Caitlin, George, Christian, Cassie, Cameron, Crystal, Robert, Adam, Abby, Gabey, and Josie; three great-grandchildren; and siblings, Lisle (JoAnn) of North Carolina, Charles of Leroy, Sandy (John) Teal of Fort Myers, Fla., and Jackie (Neil) Wilson of Leroy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lisle and Carrie (Harrison) Caldwell. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at the funeral home. Final resting place will be at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Madison Township Police and Fire Departments or your local Humane Society.
