Obituary for Ruth Robinhold

Ruth (Adams) Robinhold Henderson age 99 of Lafayette Hill PA, died suddenly Thursday (12/13) in the Chestnut Hill Hospital.

Mrs. Robinhold was born in Phila., PA, the daughter of the late William and the late Eva Hammond Adams. Wife of the late William H. Robinhold

Ruth was born in Germantown but was a long time resident of Lafayette Hill. Ruth's lifelong philosophy was to laugh, love , work , eat moderately , enjoy the outdoors and keep a happy demeanor. Ruth enjoyed making martinis for herself and many friends and was known to have the best recipe.

Ruth was an award winner and participant in many flower shows with the American Rhododenron Society in the Phila. Chapter Truss Show for 38yrs and was a member of the Outdoor Gardeners of Montco . since 1979. She currently is a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Flourtown and was a member since 1960 along with the Morris Arboretum. She also , in 1938 founded the Phila. Girls Rowing Team and went on to hold many offices.

During WW 2 she was awarded a medal for her volunteer work for the 8th Air Force she also did volunteer work at Hahneman Hospital and the Red Cross after working all day for the John B. Stetson Hat Co. and after 24 yrs. was promoted to a cost accountant. Ruth went on to work for First Penna. Bank as a manager of the mortgage insurance dept. in Phila. and retired in 1969. She also was a member of the Whitemarsh Twp. Shade Tree Commission.

She is survived by her husband- Richard L. Henderson iece, Lynn Burwell of Fla.; nephew, Thomas Forkan Jr. of Fla.

Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill.
