Obituary for Betty Lou Allen
BETTY LOU ALLEN
YOUNGSTOWN – There will be a memorial service on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. at the Evangel Baptist Church, 5248 Southern Blvd. in Boardman, for Betty Lou Allen, 88, who died Saturday evening, Nov. 3, 2012, at Omni Manor West, formerly of Afton Avenue and Crestline Place, in Boardman.
Betty was born Nov. 5, 1924, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late William Neal and Florence Leone (Nutt) Reynolds.
She graduated from South High School and lived in the Youngstown area.
Betty worked in the cafeterias for the Boardman Local Schools for 20 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Evangel Baptist Church.
Her husband, Robert George Allen, whom she married on April 8, 1947, died Nov. 2, 2000.
Betty is survived by a son, Robert N. (Doreen) Allen of Bell Flower, Calif.; two daughters, Christine Mumford of Lorain and Linda Armstrong of Boardman; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Jason, Jon, James, Evan and Travis; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, William N. (Marnie) Reynolds Jr. of San Antonio.
Besides her parents, William and Florence, and husband Robert, Betty was preceded in death by a sister, Doris A. Lanz.
Family and friends may call on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Evangel Baptist Church in Boardman.
