Obituary for Mary Acker

Mary Elizabeth Acker (1930-2012) Mary Elizabeth Acker, 82, a longtime resident of Painesville, passed away peacefully Nov. 6, 2012, at Golden Living Center in Kirtland. She was born April 19, 1930, in Painesville. She married Clinton Acker in 1951 and started her family. Mary was a polio survivor and because of that everything she did with and for her family was a blessing. She was involved with St. Mary''s School in the PTA and loved watching her children play baseball and football. She was also a Cub Scout den mother. Mary loved to bowl and was proud of her 115 average. She loved watching the Indians and Browns on TV and her occasional beer. Survivors are her daughters, Suzanne DeWitt of Painesville and Karen Wolf of Redwood Falls, Minn.; sons, Kenneth Acker of Harwood, Md., and James Acker of Painesville; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton A. Acker in 1998; parents, Carl and Agnes Nagle; sisters, Evelyn Boone and Rita Larned; and brother, Ray Nagle. Memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at St. Mary''s Catholic Church, 242 N. State St., Painesville. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
